"HP recently launched a new cloud-based application, "Touchpoint Manager" which provides customers the ability to control and manage in a simple & secure way a broad range of devices running on iOS, Android and Windows. We needed this application tested and ready in a short time window. We also wanted a single global launch while supporting device variety. This presented multiple challenges like finalizing an optimum device list, setting up a test lab, getting stable builds, and tying the sprints with tightly coupled testing. The Blue Star Infotech team came out with an effective testing plan including a master test strategy that comprised a combination of manual, performance, automation and security testing for covering a wide spectrum of OS/device configurations. A full-fledged offshore mobile testing lab with 40+ devices was set up. I am pleased to mention that this entire process kept the error free to a bare minimum level and we were able to go live as targeted and saved around 50% of the cost through this offshore set-up. We expect to save another 20-30% in costs over the next phases via automation of regression testing, which has already resulted in a major drop in test cycle time from two weeks if done manually to now only two days."
